Time for the High School forum fireworks

The boys season is nearly upon us and the relative tranquility of the forum should soon be shattered. Among the topics soon to arise:

- HS Coaches make players run too much
- Jordan will win the 4-A state championship
- Why Jordan won’t win the 4-A state championship
- Pinecrest’s coaching situation
- Refs suck
- Preseason rankings are useless
- National high school rankings are useless
- Seeding method for playoffs is all wrong

Will Union County Middle School Soccer always be a hot topic, or will it die when the posters' kids move up to HS?

Player "x" has scored 25 goals, he must be really good.

Player "x" has scored 25 goals, that shows how sorry HS soccer is

Player "x" has scored 25 goals, his parents must be proud but they are the ones at fault for putting him in HS soccer instead of some national team.

That is one of my favorites, along with, any player worth their boots doesn't play HS soccer. We all know you won't get a scholarship without playing club.

I always enjoy the one about why the college coach's won't come scout HS games.

Unfortunately, that statement is true for probably half the schools playing soccer.

what about the timekeeping on scoreboard vs. on the field and the lunacy of counting down to zero?

I thought I made a mistake once.....but I was wrong

I'm kinda waiting for the time argument. The anti-clock people seem to talk about how soccer is played that way all over the world w/o it, it's always been this way, etc. Well, I don't recall there being replay technology used either and that's now being discussed.

Embrace technology.....

how come my child isn't All State? or, why should his coach have to be a member of NCSCA to vote?

How about : HS coaches must teach at the school.
Therefore they are unlikely to be "qualified" soccer coaches .

Thank goodness there are a few "qualified " soccer coaches that are moving into the teacher ranks.
